Frequently Asked Questions

Showtime plays by the strictest safety rules back and front stage. Like any outdoor production, there can be a little drama involved, however small. Rest assured, the wide base on our kayaks make them extremely difficult to tip over and their lights mean you can avoid obstacles with ease. Our guides will make sure you don’t separate from your fellow adventurers and do everything possible to keep you safe.

For most of our audience, it’s more of a drama than a thriller. Paddling under the moonlight might give off a slightly eerie ambiance, but most guests feel secure with our expert guides and fellow guests along for the ride.

Children from 7 years and above can come on tour in a kayak with a parent or responsible adult over 18 years of age. Our humour is family-friendly and safety is paramount. Children 13 years and above can go in a kayak without an adult, however they need to be a strong paddler.

You don’t need to have any kayaking experience. Showtime guides are fully qualified to show you all the basics and keep you safe while kayaking. For maximum enjoyment, you should be moderately fit and confident on water.

We do not kayak in areas notorious for sharks. However, sharks exist throughout all ocean-fed waterways in Australia, so in that regard we do kayak in shark habitats. But don’t worry, if a shark makes a cameo appearance, there’s no additional cost.

If you have a pre-existing illness or physical limitation (such as a sore shoulder, bad lower back, poor balance, or mobility issues) it’s important to outline your condition when booking. If your condition is serious and may hinder your ability to function on the kayak tour it’s imperative that you email us prior to booking so we can discuss your options.
